Governance Structure

SDA NMTC, Kwadaso operates a governance structure that reflects both its church ownership and its statutory obligations as an accredited health training institution in Ghana. Oversight is shared between the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Governing Council, and the regulatory agencies of the State — the Ministry of Health, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.
 

The Governing Council

The Governing Council is the highest decision-making body of the College. It provides strategic direction, approves policies and budgets, and ensures that the College fulfils its mandate in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Health and the ethos of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Membership includes representatives of the Church, the Ministry of Health, the College management, staff and other stakeholders.
 

College Management

  • The Principal — the academic and administrative head of the College, responsible for day-to-day leadership and the implementation of Council decisions.
  • The Vice Principal — supports the Principal and coordinates academic affairs.
  • The College Secretary / Registrar — responsible for records, admissions and administrative services.
  • The Finance Officer — responsible for financial administration and reporting.
  • Heads of Department — lead the Nursing, Midwifery and allied academic departments.
 

Academic Board and Committees

The Academic Board regulates teaching, examinations, student progression and academic discipline. It is supported by standing committees, including the Admissions Committee, the Examinations Committee, the Library Committee, the Disciplinary Committee, the Welfare Committee and the Quality Assurance Committee. This committee system ensures broad participation, transparency and accountability in the governance of the College.
 

Regulatory Affiliations

  • Ministry of Health (MOH) — supervising ministry for health training institutions in Ghana.
  • Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (N&MC) — professional regulator; conducts licensing examinations and indexes all students.
  • Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) — accreditation and tertiary education standards.
  • Seventh-day Adventist Church — proprietor of the College, through its education and health ministries.
