About Library

Message from the Librarian

On behalf of the SDA Nursing and Midwifery Training College Library, it gives us great pleasure to welcome SDA NMTC students, faculty, and staff. The library is a key partner in teaching, learning and innovation. We provide diverse and user-focused services and collections in an inviting, collaborative, and innovative learning environment. The library continually works to further the development of its services and has a global presence.

The SDA Nursing and Midwifery Training College Library started its operation and services upon the establishment of the College. The library department of SDA NMTC is established to provide information resources and convenient space that is required to support teaching and learning in the College. SDA NMTC maintains a library that provides materials and services to meet the instructional, research and extension needs of the various constituents of the College. The library serves the students, faculty, researchers, administrators and employees both in reading activities and research ventures.

The library also offers its services to researchers outside the College, such as teachers and students from other schools, alumni, government officials/workers, and those from other countries, subject to the rules and regulations of the library. An open-shelf system is used for greater access to the collection. The books and other information resources are classified according to the Library of Congress Classification Scheme. The library provides access to an extensive range of informative resources like physical books, e-books, journals, e-journals, newspapers and a wide range of resources to improve the knowledge and thought process of the academic fraternity and students.

Vision: To become an intellectual hub of knowledge and learning for the SDA NMTC community with staff committed to excellence and continually striving to advance distinction in teaching and research through user-focused services and robust collection.

Mission: To promote intellectual growth and creativity by developing collections, facilitating access to information resources, teaching the effective use of information resources and critical skills, and offering research assistance.

I look forward to your visit.
